A rotary potentiometer — a variable resistor you turn by hand to set resistance in a circuit. This range runs five values: 5K, 10K, 20K, 50K and 100K ohm, one SKU per value, RM0.95 each. You order the value you need, and the table under Package Includes maps every value to its SKU.
The unit in our photo is the 5K one, SKU 005KPTM. Where a line below is written as “photographed 5K unit”, that is a fact we are showing you on that specific unit — the other four values are sold on their own SKUs.
 
 
⭐ Specification
For every value in this range — 5K, 10K, 20K, 50K and 100K:
– Resistance values offered: 5K, 10K, 20K, 50K and 100K ohm. One value per SKU, and each option is a potentiometer (variable resistor).
– Price: RM0.95 for every value. 100K costs the same as 5K.
– Quantity: 1x potentiometer per SKU.
– Packed weight and size: 0.01 kg, 3.0 × 3.0 × 1.0 cm. These are our packing figures for shipping, not the potentiometer’s own body dimensions.
On the photographed 5K unit (005KPTM):
– Type: rotary potentiometer, turned by a shaft, with 3 terminals.
– Body: round metal can crimped over an orange moulded base.
– Shaft: knurled (splined) all round the arc shown — the push-on knob style.
– Terminals: 3 flat tinned solder lugs in one evenly spaced row along one edge of the base. Each lug is a wide tab, pierced for wire, narrowing into a straight leg bent down for through-hole insertion.
– Marking on the part: the can face shown in our photo carries a short die stamp beginning with a “W”. No resistance code, no taper letter and no maker’s name appears on that face. Order by SKU — the SKU you select is what sets the value you receive.
 
 
🔌 Connector & What Ships
On the photographed 5K unit (005KPTM), the three terminals are bare male solder lugs — flat tinned tabs with a wire hole, tapering into a downward leg. They are not a female socket, not a pin header with a plastic shell, not a screw terminal, and not a JST or Dupont plug. Nothing is attached to them: bare metal, ready for you to solder.
As the seller, for every value in this range: what we ship is the bare component on its own. No wires, no cable, no pigtail, no connector, no adapter board and no breakout board is supplied with any option.

Whichever value you order, that is the whole packet. To be blunt about what is not in it — for every value, 5K through 100K — because this is the question that causes disputes:

– No mounting nut and no washer (not lock washer, not anti-rotation washer)

– No printed documentation or datasheet
 
 
🧰 What You Also Need
– A way to join wires to the terminals. On the photographed 5K unit the terminals are bare solder tabs and nothing solderless is supplied with any option in this range, so plan on a soldering iron and solder — or a socket or carrier of your own that accepts the lugs, if you would rather not solder.
– Wires or a PCB. We supply no wire, cable, connector or adapter board with any value in this range, so the conductor is one you fit yourself. On the photographed 5K unit that means hook-up wire onto the solder tabs, or the legs down through a board.
– A knob. The shaft on the photographed 5K unit is the knurled push-on type, so a push-on splined knob suits it. We do not include a knob with any option.
– A nut and washer, if your build calls for them. We do not supply them with any option.
 
 
❓ FAQ
Q: The main photo has “POTENTIOMETER(5K)” printed on it. Which value do I actually get?
The value you ordered. The unit in that photo is the 5K one, SKU 005KPTM. Order 10K, 20K, 50K or 100K and that is the value that ships.
Q: Do the different values cost different amounts?
No. RM0.95 for 5K, 10K, 20K, 50K and 100K alike.
Q: Does it come with a knob, nut and washer?
No. You get 1x bare potentiometer per SKU. Knob, nut and washer are all separate.
Q: Can I plug it straight into a breadboard?
The 5K unit in our photo has solder lugs, not breadboard pins. On that part the reliable route is to solder three wires to the lugs and run those wires into the breadboard.
Q: Do I need to solder it?
On the photographed 5K unit the three terminals are bare tinned lugs with nothing attached, so plan on soldering them — or seating them in a suitable socket you supply yourself.
