A 12 × 12 mm tactile push-button switch (tact switch) supplied together with a round cap for the actuator. The cap colour is the one named on the option you select.
Our photo shows the red unit, so you can see the shape, the build and the legs before you buy.
⭐ Specification
– Switch body size: 12 × 12 × 7.3 mm (bare switch, cap off)
– Overall size with the cap fitted: 12 × 12 × 12 mm
– Pins: 4
– Rated load: DC 12 V, 0.1 A
– Contact resistance: below 0.03 Ω
– Operating force: 0.8 – 1.5 N
– Rated life: 100,000 actuations
– Cap: round cap, in the colour named on the option you select
Do not exceed the rated load. Anything drawing more than 0.1 A, running above DC 12 V, or running on mains must be carried by a relay, transistor or MOSFET, with this button only telling that device when to switch.
What we can see on the red unit in our photo: a square black plastic body, a top plate held down by two rivets, and the round cap seated on the actuator stem in the centre. The cap is a separate part sitting on the stem, not moulded into the switch.
🔌 Connector & What Ships
On the red unit in our photo there is no connector fitted, so no male or female gender applies. The leads are bare flat metal legs coming down from the underside of the body and ending in plain tinned tabs.
To be exact about what those legs are not, on the unit we photographed:
– Not a male pin header
– Not a female socket or DuPont housing
– Not a screw terminal
– Not SMD pads
– Nothing soldered, crimped or terminated onto them
Two legs come down from the near face of the body in that photo, and no legs come out of the left or right faces.

The cap colour options recorded on this listing are:
Option (SKU) — Option name — Cap colour

BLUTBUT — PUSH BUTTON (BLUE) — Blue
GRETBUT — PUSH BUTTON (GREEN) — Green
WHITBUT — PUSH BUTTON (WHITE) — White
YELTBUT — PUSH BUTTON (YELLOW) — Yellow
On the red unit we photographed, the cap arrives already fitted onto the actuator, exactly as shown.
That is the whole offer. Specifically not included, on any option:
– No spare caps and no alternate-colour caps
– No wires or jumper leads
– No pin header strip
– No PCB, breakout board or panel bezel
– No resistor
– No mounting nut, bracket or hardware
– No printed instructions or datasheet
🧰 What You Also Need
– A soldering iron and solder. The legs on the unit we photographed are bare metal tabs with nothing attached to them, so plan on soldering the switch into your board.
– A board or panel to mount it into, with 12 × 12 mm of clear area for the body.
– A multimeter. Buzz the legs of one unit against your pad layout before you commit a board run.
– A relay, transistor or MOSFET if you are switching anything past the DC 12 V 0.1 A rating — a motor, an LED strip, a solenoid, or anything mains. Let that device carry the load and use the button only as the trigger.
❓ FAQ
Q: Which cap colour will I get?
A: The colour named on the option you select. Pick by the option name — black, blue, green, white or yellow — and that named colour is the cap that ships. It is not a random draw.
Q: Does the cap come already fitted, or do I press it on myself?
A: On the red unit we photographed, the cap arrives already fitted on the actuator stem, exactly as the photo shows.
Q: Do I need to solder it, or does it come with wires?
A: No wires, no header and no plug are attached — the legs on the photographed unit are bare tinned tabs. Bring your own soldering iron and solder.
Q: Can I switch 240 V mains, or a DC motor, directly with this?
A: No. The rated load is DC 12 V at 0.1 A. Run the button into a relay, transistor or MOSFET and let that device carry the load. Never put mains through this switch.
Q: How tall is it once the cap is on?
A: 12 × 12 × 12 mm overall with the cap fitted. The bare switch body without the cap is 12 × 12 × 7.3 mm.
Q: How fast do you ship?
A: Orders placed during working hours — Monday to Saturday, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, closed Sunday — ship out within 24 hours from our shop in KL (Sungai Besi). Same-day delivery is available for Klang Valley customers by arrangement.
Q: I soldered it in and it is not switching. Can you help?
A: Yes — get in touch and we will work through the wiring with you.
