This is a handy breakout board featuring the IRF520 N-Channel MOSFET. It’s designed to let you switch higher current DC loads using a low-voltage signal from your microcontroller, like an Arduino or Raspberry Pi. Hook up your control signal to the SIG pin, provide power to VCC (same as your microcontroller voltage), and connect GND. Drive it from a 5V board (Arduino Uno, Nano, Mega): the IRF520 is a standard-gate MOSFET, so a 5V signal only partly turns it on, and a 3.3V signal (ESP32, Raspberry Pi) barely switches it at all — 3.3V boards should use a logic-level MOSFET module instead. Then, connect your DC load (like a motor, solenoid, or LED strip) and its power supply (up to 24V) to the screw terminals. You can even use PWM signals to control the speed of a DC motor or dim LEDs. Makes controlling bigger loads simple and effective for your DIY projects.
⭐ Specification
– Model: IRF520 Driver Module
– MOSFET: IRF520 (N-Channel)
– Control Signal Voltage: 5V logic recommended. The IRF520 reaches its full ratings only with a 10V gate drive; at 3.3V it barely conducts, so this board is not suitable for 3.3V-only boards
– Output Load Voltage: 0 – 24V DC
– Output Load Current: budget about 1A continuous when driven from a 5V control signal, without extra cooling. The MOSFET itself is rated higher, but only with a 10V gate drive and a heatsink
– Dimensions (L x W x H): Approx. 33 x 24 x 20 mm
– Weight: Approx. 10g
– Connection: 3-pin Header (SIG, VCC, GND), Screw Terminals (Load Input/Output)
⚒️ Interesting Project
– Build a PWM motor speed controller.
– Create a high-power LED dimmer.
– Control a DC solenoid valve. Note the board has no onboard flyback diode — fit a 1N4007 or similar across any solenoid, relay coil or motor you switch with it.
