A temperature and humidity sensor supplied as a ready-built module. You receive an assembled board, not a loose 4-pin component.
This listing has two options, and they are two physically different sensors on two different boards:
– DHT11 SENSOR — the light-blue perforated DHT11 sensor body soldered onto a small black PCB. This is the board in the main photo.
– DHT22 SENSOR — a white AM2302-style sensor housing on a different black PCB.
Read the per-option notes below before you pick. The figures are not shared between the two.
⭐ Specification
Both options
– Measures ambient (air) temperature and relative humidity.
– The sensor arrives already soldered onto its PCB, and a 3-pin straight male header arrives already soldered on as well.
– The board carries a mounting hole.
– We sell it for Arduino, Raspberry Pi and IoT builds.
DHT11 SENSOR option
– Temperature range: 0 to 50 degC.
– Humidity range: 20 to 80% RH, +/-5% RH accuracy.
– Operating voltage: 3V to 5.5V.
– Light-blue perforated sensor body on a small black PCB.
– One SMD resistor on board, silkscreen designator “R1”, chip marked “512”.
– Silkscreen letter “S” printed at the header end of the board.
DHT22 SENSOR option
– White sensor housing on a black PCB, with four solder joints where the sensor legs enter the board.
– The silkscreen beside the header includes “+” and “out”.
– The temperature range, humidity range and operating voltage listed above are DHT11 figures. They describe the DHT11 SENSOR option and they do not describe the DHT22. Size a DHT22 build on DHT22/AM2302 figures, never on the DHT11 numbers on this page.
🔌 Connector & What Ships
Nothing ships unsoldered. You do not solder anything.
– Both options terminate in a 3-pin STRAIGHT MALE header, already soldered to the PCB — a black plastic insulator base with three pins standing perpendicular to the board. These are male pins you plug onto: not a female socket, not a screw terminal, not bare pads.
– Because the header pins are male, whatever you connect at the sensor side must have a female end.
⚒️ Interesting Project

2. Smart Home Automation: Integrate the DHT11 into your smart home system to control appliances based on temperature and humidity levels. Discover how sensors can make your home more comfortable and efficient.
3. Plant Monitoring System: Create a system to monitor soil moisture and ambient conditions for your indoor plants. Learn about optimizing plant growth and automating watering schedules.
4. Classroom Science Experiments: Use the DHT11 to teach students about data collection, graphing, and the effects of environmental factors on various materials. Engage young minds with hands-on learning experiences.
📦 Package Includes:
DHT11 SENSOR option
– 1x DHT11 sensor module — light-blue perforated sensor body pre-soldered onto a small black PCB, with a 3-pin straight male header pre-soldered and one SMD resistor (R1, marked “512”) on board.
No cable, no jumper wires and no controller board are supplied with this option.
DHT22 SENSOR option
– 1x DHT22 (AM2302-style) sensor module — white sensor housing on a black PCB, mounting hole on board, 3-pin straight male header pre-soldered.
No cable, no jumper wires and no controller board are supplied with this option.
🧰 What You Also Need
– A female-ended lead, on either option. Both options are sold as the module on its own and both terminate in male header pins, so budget for female-to-male jumper wires or a 3-way female Dupont lead alongside whichever you pick.
– A controller board — Arduino, Raspberry Pi or similar, on either option. The sensor is not a standalone meter and it has no display.
– A supply within the sensor’s voltage range. For the DHT11 SENSOR option that is 3V to 5.5V, so a 3.3V or 5V rail off your controller board covers it.
– A screw and standoff if you want it held down. Both boards have a mounting hole, but mounting hardware is not supplied.
❓ FAQ
1. Do I need to solder anything?
No. Both options arrive with the 3-pin straight male header already soldered to the board, and the sensor itself is already soldered on. Plug female jumper wires straight on.
2. Is this the bare 4-pin sensor or a module on a PCB?
It is the module on a PCB. The DHT11 option is the blue sensor mounted on a small black board with an onboard resistor and a pre-soldered male header — exactly what you see in the photo.
3. Is a jumper lead included?
No. Both options ship as the module on its own, so order a female-ended lead with it.
4. Can I use this to measure soil moisture for my plants?
No. This sensor measures air temperature and air humidity only. Soil moisture needs a separate soil moisture probe, which is a different part and is not included here. Please do not buy this one expecting soil readings — if you are building a plant monitor, you need both.
5. Do the specs on this page apply to the DHT22 option?
No. Everything under “DHT11 SENSOR option” is a DHT11 figure. The DHT22 is a physically different sensor in a white housing, so do not size your build on the DHT11 range, accuracy or voltage numbers if you pick the DHT22 option.
6. Where does it ship from, and how fast?
Ready stock in KL (Sungai Besi). We ship within 24 hours during working hours — Monday to Saturday, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, closed on Sunday. Same day delivery is available for Klang Valley customers.
