Choose between the compact 16×2 (16 characters, 2 rows) or the larger 20×4 (20 characters, 4 rows) size. Most variations feature an I2C interface backpack, which dramatically simplifies wiring – you only need two data pins (SDA and SCL) plus power and ground! This frees up valuable pins on your Arduino, Raspberry Pi, ESP32, or other microcontroller. Contrast is easily adjustable via the onboard potentiometer. Available with classic blue or green backlights to suit your project’s aesthetic. We also offer a ‘Basic Blue’ 20×4 version without the I2C interface for direct parallel control using standard HD44780 libraries (requires more GPIO pins).
